At Global Accent, we realize that we could not operate as a business without the use of the valuable natural resources that come from the earth. For this reason and many others, we believe strongly in conservation and keeping this planet and its plant and animal inhabitants healthy for future generations.
One of the primary threats to our planet is CO2 and climate change. We believe that we must all be proactive in facing this threat. For this reason, we are proud to be a Corporate Sponsor for Hearts in the Ice (www.heartsintheice.com) to provide them with multilingual communication capabilities in their mission to promote climate change awareness from the Arctic Circle. Knowledge is the most powerful tool we have in solving this global issue. Please follow Hilde and Sunniva’s story as we move into 2021 (in English or Norwegian!) We were thrilled to join them in their sendoff celebration in Svalbard, September 2019, and will be doing our absolute best to help publicize round two of their winter expedition in the Arctic Circle!

In addition to Hearts in the Ice, we have also been directly involved through the Outdoor Industry Association. In the spring of 2018, owner Geoff Norby joined other innovative outdoor business leaders in Telluride, Colorado for the OIA Climate Change Executive Roundtable. This included a full day of studying the facts and brainstorming climate change actions with significant thought leaders such as the Governor of Washington, Jay Inslee, and the Executive Director of Protect Our Winters (POW), Mario Molina. In addition, Mr. Norby has attended multiple conservation and climate change events through the OIA and OR in Salt Lake City, Denver, and Boulder, including a roundtable discussion with Colorado US Representative, Joe Neguse.
Our rivers are a vital natural resource that we must protect. One way to improve awareness is to train young people throughout the world about the importance of conservationism and environmentalism first-hand. For that reason, we support the Rios to Rivers organization (www.riostorivers.org) with their translation needs. We are proud to help them realize their extremely important mission in the United States, Patagonia, and beyond! |
In addition to these important international initiatives, we believe in supporting those in need in our community in Northern Colorado as well. For this reason, we have provided either free or discounted translation to local non-profits such as Project Smile Fort Collins and the Larimer County Food Bank. We are also proud to work with Unite for Literacy (www.uniteforliteracy.com), a very unique organization that is helping to increase literacy in areas that need it. Owner Geoff Norby has also spoken at Career Fair and Language Department events at Colorado State University in order to reach out to the local academic community. We are always interested in growing our partnerships with local companies, so please reach out to us if you are interested in working with us!
